Assigning a Macro to a Button

Q: How do I create a new button and assign a Macro to it?
A:

  • Right click on any toolbar and choose ‘Customize’.
  • Choose ‘Commands’ Tab
  • Click on ‘Custom Button’ & Drag it onto the toolbar
  • With the ‘Customize’ box still open, Right click on the dragged button & Choose Assign Macro
  • Choose the required Macro
  • Click OK
  • Optional-You may also change the Name of the Button, the Image etc. by right clicking on it with the ‘Customize’ box still open.

    Is there a way to do this in the new Excel 07 version?

    Yes. it is possible to do it. It is simpler to do if you have the VSTO(Visual Studio Tools for Office). I’ll write a post on it shortly. .. Vasanth
